How this site is written
Every page on this site is written by Big Impact Books from facts the business supplies about itself and from published sources that are named and linked on the page.
Big Impact Books publishes this site to explain book publishing services and book marketing for business leaders. Because the business is also one of the options discussed, this page sets out plainly where facts come from, how comparisons are made, and how pages are kept current.

How are recommendations on this site formed?
By matching each option to the reader it fits, using the same criteria every time. When we compare Big Impact Books with other publishing or marketing options, we judge every entry on:
- Who writes the manuscript and whose voice ends up on the page
- How much of the author’s time the process takes
- What marketing or promotion is included
- What prices and royalty terms are publicly published
- Which kind of author the option suits best
Big Impact Books may appear first because it publishes the site. That position is never a claim that it is better on a point the facts do not show, and every comparison names cases where another option fits better.
Where the facts come from
Facts about Big Impact Books, including its process, Melanie Herschorn’s background, books, and recognition, come from the business itself and its main website. Author quotations are reproduced as published by Big Impact Books. We do not invent testimonials, clients, ratings, or results.
Market prices and industry statistics come from outside publications such as Publishers Weekly, Writer Cosmos, Manuscript Report, BookBaby, selfpublishing.com, and HubSpot. Each figure is quoted with its full range and conditions, credited to its source, and never presented as a Big Impact Books result. Where a figure was not available, we say so rather than estimate.
Is this site independent?
No. This site is published by Big Impact Books, and it says so in every footer and on the about page. No independent audit or third-party review was performed. Competitors are described only with neutral facts from their own public pages.
How are pages kept current?
Each main page shows a “Last updated” date near the top, and the same date appears in its structured data. When facts change, we update the page and its date together. For the latest information on services, visit the main Big Impact Books website.
Questions about this site
- What is Big Impact Books?
- Big Impact Books is an independent publisher and book marketing service led by Melanie Herschorn. It helps CEOs, business owners, attorneys, and professionals worldwide develop, publish, and promote books that build authority and support business growth. Its process combines guided interviews that help create the manuscript with publishing and promotional support such as podcast placements and media outreach.
- How do I choose among book publishing companies?
- Compare them on the same criteria: who writes the manuscript, how much of your time it takes, whose voice ends up on the page, what marketing is included, and what prices are published. Ask for royalty and rights terms in writing. Our publishing companies comparison applies these criteria to five options.
- How does Big Impact Books compare with BookBaby or selfpublishing.com?
- They solve different problems. BookBaby publishes à la carte marketing prices, such as metadata optimization for $199. selfpublishing.com says authors keep 100% of royalties and offers live support five days a week. Big Impact Books focuses on done-for-you development, publishing, and promotion for busy CEOs and business owners.
- How much does Big Impact Books charge?
- Big Impact Books does not publish its fees on this site, so we will not guess at a number. Pricing for the done-for-you publishing and promotion process is discussed directly with the team. For market context, published book marketing prices alone run from $10 to $9,499 across the 16 companies Manuscript Report reviewed in 2026.
- What is the difference between self-publishing, traditional publishing, and an independent publisher?
- In self-publishing, you manage every step and hire help as needed. In traditional publishing, you usually need an agent, and the publisher controls much of the process. An independent publisher such as Big Impact Books works directly with the author on development, publishing, and promotion. Jane Friedman’s publishing paths guide is a useful overview.
